Staying active in winter can be challenging, especially when cold and wet outside! But living an active lifestyle doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are a few easy things you can incorporate into your day-to-day lifestyle this winter:
- Keep moving – movement is the key to getting active. Introducing small changes, like skipping the immediate sit-down when you arrive home, can help. Instead, keep moving and transition straight into your workout.
- Keep warm – remember that it is winter, and you should dress appropriately. Once you’ve warmed up or have sweated it out, it can be easy to forget about the cold weather. So, be sure to put that jumper back on before embracing the cold outside air.
- Have an exercise buddy – Having another person to help hold you accountable throughout your workout is a great way to stay motivated! Going for a swim or gym workout can often be put on the back burner, however when we have an exercise buddy we find ourselves more motivated to attend.
- Attend a class – finding yourself in a class full of like-minded motivated healthy individuals is a great way to hold yourself accountable. Plus the radiating energy of the instructor is bound to leave you inspired.
