We are proud to share that our very own Tony Goodwin, an 87-year-old swimmer from Bowral and dedicated Moss Vale Aquatic Centre member, has achieved global recognition by being inducted into the Masters International Swimming Hall of Fame as an Honour Masters Swimmer in the 2024 cohort. This esteemed honour celebrates Tony’s lifetime of dedication and record-breaking achievements in swimming.
Tony’s competitive swimming journey began in his teenage years, and after a long break, he returned to the sport 35 years ago. Since then, he has trained diligently here at Moss Vale Aquatic Centre and gone on to set over 20 world records, 180 national records, and 250 state records. Just last year, with his family cheering him on, he competed at the Masters World Championships in Japan, winning four gold medals and breaking world records in his specialty, breaststroke.
Congratulations, Tony, on this extraordinary achievement! Your dedication and passion inspire our Moss Vale Aquatic Centre community every day!
