Ever seen this piece of equipment at the gym and wondered how to incorporate into your workout? They’re called a Bosu ball and they are a great idea to change up your exercises!



1. Toe taps

Lift your knees high while alternating touching the Bosu ball with the tip of your foot.



2. Squat jumps

Start in a side lunge position, and whilst balancing one foot on the Bosu ball and one foot on the floor, push off the ground to move the foot on the ground onto the ball whilst the foot on the ball moves onto the other side of the ball onto the floor. Keep alternating legs.



3. Burpees

Holding the Bosu ball upside down in the straight arm plank position, move your legs to a tucked position, do a standing squat whilst holding the ball. Stand-up and lift the ball above your head. Move the Bosu ball back down to the straight arm plank position, and add a push-up if you’re feeling a challenge! Then repeat.



4. and for an extra challenge… Bosu push-ups!

Grip your fingers on the edge of the Bosu ball upside down. Bend your elbows to lower your entire body into a push-up position, pushing your hand’s weight evenly into the ball. On the way up, push your entire body upwards whilst pulling the ball closer to your body, then land the Bosu ball back on the floor with bent arms and lower back into the push-up position. And repeat!

It’s important to remember that our gym facilities will be shared by many members of our community. With that in mind, here are our top 5 most valued gym etiquette tips to remember in the gym!

1) Always ask
If you want to use a piece of equipment that’s near someone, especially weights on a rack, it’s always respectful and SAFE to ask before you take. Imagine leaning over to grab a weight, while they’re in use, this can become very dangerous.

2) Take but remember to return
We do have lovely gym staff working around to help clean up the gym floor, however, if everything is put back in the right spot it’ll be easier for other members and staff to find it for later use.

3) Bring a towel and clean up after yourself
We do have paper towels and disinfectant in our gyms, but to keep our facility in top-tip shape when it comes to hygiene you will be required to bring a towel to clean up after yourself.

4) Be mindful of your surroundings
Remember that although this is a shared environment, look to keep your workout at a comfortable distance from other gymmies! This is also an important factor for safety, nobody wants to be in the middle of your lengthy stretching or heavy lifting.

5) Don’t forget to share
Be mindful of how busy the gym is and try not to occupy the equipment for longer than needed, especially if it is 6 pm on a weeknight! Try to avoid staying a the squat rack for longer than 30 minutes. Sharing is caring!

Each year families are eligible to receive a $100 voucher per child (4.5 -18 years) from the state government to use towards ongoing sports lessons. From 1 July 2019, a second $100 Active Kids voucher will be available.

Provider rules for the application of the second Active Kids voucher:

The second $100 Active Kids voucher will be available from 1 July 2019
All vouchers are valid to 31 December 2019
Second vouchers continue to be transacted in the same way as the first
The two vouchers cannot be used as a single $200 transaction for the same sport/activity (however it can be used for a different activity with the same provider)

How to apply for the Active Kids Vouchers
  • Visit sport.nsw.gov.au/activekids.Read the Guidelines and Fact Sheets to learn about the program.
  • Visit service.nsw.gov.au and create or login to your MyServiceNSW Account.
  • Complete an Active Kids application through your MyServiceNSW Account. You will receive a voucher with a unique ID number for each child you register (available to download, print and email).
  • Redeem your voucher – Fill out the form below with your voucher ID number.
Terms and Conditions
  • The voucher will be redeemed upon enrolment in a perpetual Bluefit Program
  • As per conditions of Service NSW, the Active Kids voucher must be used for a structured program for a minimum of 8 weeks duration.
  • The Active Kids Voucher cannot be used for any holiday program, as the programs run for less than 8 weeks
  • If the child cancels out of their BlueFit program without using up the entire amount of the Active Kids Voucher, the amount will remain as a credit unless the program runs for a fixed term.
  • Non-attendance in a program does not entitle credits to the voucher.
  • Under no circumstances is the Active Kids Voucher redeemable for cash. The vouchers are non-refundable or transferable.

From the 4th February to 22nd April our challengers across our 5 centres journeyed to a better place for health and fitness. With some training 4-5 times a week, they also focused on their nutrition to compete for a healthier lifestyle for themselves.

Our 8 Week Challenge Included:
– Exclusive challenge group training sessions
– Access to our 8 Week Challenge Portal
– Full Body Scan & Fitness Assessment
– Training Program & Meal Plan
– Nutrition Advice

To spice things up BlueFit offered a $2000 prize to the top female and male national winners. Congratulations to our National female winner, Aphrodite Cox from Bexley who lost 7.0kg and 7.1% in body fat and our National male winner, Robert Henry from BayFit who lost 13.5kg and 6.2% in body fat!

A huge shout out to our site winners who won a free 12-month membership:

James Borbone who lost 10.8kg and 6.6% in body fat & Jennifer Cavanagh who lost 7.2kg and 2.2% in body fat!

This is only the ending of the first chapter on your new journey. Take what you have learnt from the challenge and continue to apply it in your new lifestyle!
