It’s important to remember that our gym facilities will be shared by many members of our community. With that in mind, here are our top 5 most valued gym etiquette tips to remember in the gym!

1) Always ask
If you want to use a piece of equipment that’s near someone, especially weights on a rack, it’s always respectful and SAFE to ask before you take. Imagine leaning over to grab a weight, while they’re in use, this can become very dangerous.

2) Take but remember to return
We do have lovely gym staff working around to help clean up the gym floor, however, if everything is put back in the right spot it’ll be easier for other members and staff to find it for later use.

3) Bring a towel and clean up after yourself
We do have paper towels and disinfectant in our gyms, but to keep our facility in top-tip shape when it comes to hygiene you will be required to bring a towel to clean up after yourself.

4) Be mindful of your surroundings
Remember that although this is a shared environment, look to keep your workout at a comfortable distance from other gymmies! This is also an important factor for safety, nobody wants to be in the middle of your lengthy stretching or heavy lifting.

5) Don’t forget to share
Be mindful of how busy the gym is and try not to occupy the equipment for longer than needed, especially if it is 6 pm on a weeknight! Try to avoid staying a the squat rack for longer than 30 minutes. Sharing is caring!

Due to essential major pool plant repair works, we require to shut our pools down for a period of 11 days commencing on Monday 12 August to Thursday 22 August 2019.

Council in partnership with BlueFit has planned these works in the cooler months where we see a reduction in facility use and bookings. Whilst these major repair works are being completed we are taking this opportunity to also do an extensive clean of the pool tiles.

The Health Club will continue to operate during this period.

We thank you for your patience and will continue to keep you updated. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

On August 9th we will be partaking in CafeSmart to support StreetSmart who act to ignite positive action against the homeless. The organisation fundraises to support grassroots projects that tackle homelessness. These smaller organisations provide vital frontline services but struggle with a lack of resources, the little guys are an important part of our social safety net, and in collaboration with individuals, business and corporate partners our mission is to lend a helping hand.

CafeSmart unites the community over our favourite brew to help fund local homeless services. On August 9th hundreds of coffee roasters and cafes around Australia will partner and donate $1 from every coffee sold, and ask their customers to chip in a donation to help tackle homelessness.

So make sure you pop into Moss Vale Leisure Centre on this day to make your contribution! To learn more about how you can get involved see their website here.
